I'm coming. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Would like more info on the Hotel (name, address, phone ); also, may have to fly up. How far is the Hotel from the Tahoe-Reno Airport ? Is the date set or not ? Search Horizon South Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe airport is very close though major airlines don't fly in there. You may consider Reno though, Someone can pick you up. |

We are still looking into a group rate. The nice part about the Horizon is they said they would block off a certain amount of rooms for the group and you'll just have to tell them you are with us. We don't have to commit to a certain amount of rooms before hand. One of the nice perks of having it in a location where there are a lot of hotel options...

But please don't reserve a room yet. We're still waiting on the PCA SVR to give us the thumbs up on our dates. We'll know sometime in January for sure.
Rob, do you know when in Jan that they'll have their 2010 calendar announced? |

But please don't reserve a room yet. We're still waiting on the PCA SVR to give us the thumbs up on our dates. We'll know sometime in January for sure. Rob, do you know when in Jan that they'll have their 2010 calendar announced? Randy, We will know the calendar Bob and Frederick intend to present sometime early in January. I will be on them to inform me as it is formed. The actual meeting where the board will vote to approve that calendar is February 4th. In most cases, this is a rubber stamp vote. My impression is that the board can have contentious debate but once a motion is made it is approved. The competition calendar, particularly the Drivers Education component makes SVR a good portion of their budget. If Bob and Frederick recommend it, I have confidence it will be approved. As I have said, my biggest concern is that Trackmasters has offered us the paddock lot for free for three events this coming year. If one of those is in May on our dates or before/after, I would not blame Bob and Frederick for choosing to go with Trackmasters - and not come to Tahoe. The reason is that Tahoe is a long drive and involves costs even if the site is free. Bob is sympathetic and, I believe wants to have the event with us. The problem is he has no vote as he is a chair not a board member. He has no vote. If Frederick agrees with Bob, I have a vote and the board follows Frederick. This means the key is what does Frederick want to do. The short answer is, we will know what they want to do in January and February 4th it will be written in stone. Again, not having an autocross is not the end of the world. Most Rambles don't. |

So we won't have a for sure date until Jan-Feb ? As far as I am concerned those dates are the dates. But, that is not my decision. I believe the intent of the planning group is to be flexible as a carrot on a stick for the SVR people but if they (SVR) decide to go with Trackmasters in May I do not believe they would have a second event the same month, especially one that involves towing a trailer all the way to Tahoe. Too much effort for an all volunteer organization. |

Maybe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I am looking into going. Business has been good this year and this is my last year of freedom for the next 3 at least. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) I'm sure you can do that or better today in a teener on the Interstates! ... and what's with this 800 mi per day?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) - you can drive more than 8 hours a day I'm sure!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

OK, so I've been re-deranging my garage to get the 914 parts shell inside too before the El Nino Monsoon hits this coming week starting Sunday, & have a pile of parts semi-organized - no surgery this year (I hope!), but there's a bat's chance in hell that it'll be anywhere near drivable by then! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
For those whining about the snow - pack your skis & be happy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) My teener made the trip from SoCal to the WINTER Tahoe Resorts many times back in the day..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/santa_smiley.gif) ......they do work in snow folks, & no salt allowed on California roads! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) ... and what's this about trailering - just f'ing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) it! |

Teachers/students always amazed "that little yellow car" could get through the snow. Trailer a 914? Lame...lame...lame....just sell it and get a Camry or an ant farm. |

This will be the premier for my car. I should have made it last year, but the painter is what held me back. Now, I have no excuses.
