I went to my first AX in Sept of 2010. Came in third from last of a field of 100 cars (that were scored - other cars were slower but not scored) in my street 914. I had a total blast - but have not been back to race again. Work, family, deaths, 914 being down this year have all conspired against me. Hopefully I'll be back in 2012 but with another kid due in February...? For a lot of new drivers, its not about being scared or feeling left out - we just don't have the commitment to it and other stuff crowds up Saturday and Sunday. That is where we all started, i.e., in the lower finishers. But it's never too late to get back out there and have some more fun. One good thing about autoxing is that it doesn't take all weekend - so family matters can also be attended and everyone stays happy. What do you need to do to your teener to get it back on the road? |

I hope to be able to. I'm converting it to modern FI (It was carbs and can't use stock FI). Mostly I need time to get out and do it - and that has been very hard to find. I might AX my Honda Fit just to get back out again, since the new baby is already eating into my too short car time - and hes not even born yet. Zach |
