Bus engine bar. Matches the bus engine bar that came with my 2.0 crank and rods (still in worthless bus block, attached to worthless bus pistons, hitting worthless bus valves, mounted in worthless bus heads).

Bar should be worth quite a bit of money! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

If this is for a 914 it might be worth money when NARP prices start to go back up- there is a huge demand among concours people for smog parts on every other collector vehicle. Everybody took this crap off and threw it away in the '80s and they don't make original parts any more.

There is somebody in California putting all the smog crap back on his Porsche, and as soon as his 1976 air is here for his tires he needs one of these.

'70-'72 bars had no cable hole. Putting a hole in the bar would significantly impact its structural integrity.

Just to save making another post, it's not a bus bar, either. Bus bars are curved up near the ends, straightening out for the last 6 inches or so, and they're also curved in the fore and aft plane.................

Might be the hot air feed into the oil bath air cleaner on a 1.7. It's been a long time since I looked at the one I have.

Whatever you do, don't throw away that smog pump. Send it to McMark in case someone needs to pass smog out here in Kalifornia with a 76... It might not work right but it would at least make it possible to pass the visual and you could probably tune to get past the sniff test.

I can have all you want rebuilt (on premises) so that they do work correctly.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) never had a oil bath equipped engine.
