I know Corey Jump (Planet911) The engine will be exactly what he says it is. I have known Corey for 8+ years.

Amen on Corey Jump. Just wanted to chime in since he's in my neck of the woods. He's not only honest, but a really nice guy that loves Porsches. He's practically given away 914 parts to me as well as giving me solid advice on my car setup. It probably costs him money to have me as a customer, but he treats me as if I were an important client. Here's to Corey. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I'd pass on that motor. Those are Zenith carbs, not Webers. A good set of Webers will cost over 1k.....unless Brad likes you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

hmmmmm........... What do you think I could get from my webers?? They are jetted for 3.0L and I have K&N airfilters.

I am not selling them right now, but I may chance them to the programmable fuel injection system and then I will need to chance them to the ca$$ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boldblue.gif)

What differs a /4 car from a /6 car - other than drivetrain and suspension
1) hand throttle
2) no door beams in doors
3) something on one trailing arm? (read that from an earlier thread...fill me in)
4) fixed pass. seat. and non retractable seatbelts
5) different ignition/wiperswitch/ turnsignal
what else.....?

A rather comprehensive list was done my Jon Lowe on the Rennlist. A couple of things that come to mind:

6. Ignition on the left.
7. Windshield washer & bottle different.
8. Steering column & trim pieces

Timo:
Good IDA Webers (non-worn butterfly shafts) with manifolds, linkage, and air cleaners, get snapped up pretty quick. When/if you get serious ask 1200 on the PP 911 classifieds.

I saw a set of rebuilt triples in excellent condition with linkage and manifolds go for $1500 at the local swap meet a month or so ago.

While on the topic of weber carbs....
.....In the aftermarket/custom vw / hot rodding market for VW's, the thing THat was "BITCHIN" and "ALL THE RAGE" were weber 48 IDA 2 barrel downdrafters. Everyone had to have them....but they were no longer available new. So everybody had rebuilt 48 ida's. But weber realized the need and brought out all the old tooling and stuff and shipped a 48 ft container from spain(webers' new HQ ithink (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) ) to the states. Now all the buggers and ghia hot rodders can buy new carbs for their aircooled beasts. If weber realixed the need for those carbs, would the redo the 911/914.6 carbs too?

PMO recognized this some time back.
Last I saw, $2400 for a set of carbs only. Close to $3K for the whole set-up.

I have heard of some issues with the PMO's in race applications, but I am not familiar enough to describe the technical details. I would bet that anything that has/does come up is just teething pains that Richard will deal with agressively. They are very pretty units and certainly fill a need in the market.

Keep in mind that even the nicest triple-throat Webers you''ll find are still about 30 years old and there can be lots of rehab needed with the bushings, banjo fittings, etc. Fortunately there are several shops, including PMO, who also still support Webers with spare parts and repair services. This is a good thing...cuz I have Webers...

Richard and his staff are extemely nice and very helpful. They helped me with rebuild kits for the (36's?) on my 356 and got some hard to find stuff my 40's for the blue car.

I would recomend them highly.
Their CNC machine is truly remarkable. That shit knocks me out!
