Are the poly-draphite bushing from pelican worth buying? they seem really cheap for a porsche part (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) any thoughts from someone who has used them? Do a search on this list for poly-graphite bushings and you'll see why they are so cheap. Nobody that is serious about improving their suspension uses them. Also search for poly-bronze and delrin to see better alternatives, and of course more expensive (Porsche priced) options. This link has some great threads linked to it. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...ushing++install http://www.tangerineracing.com/suspension.htm http://www.tarett.com/items/914-products/list.htm Dion |

Those bushings come in two hardness ratings. 94A and 70D.
94D (what is commonly sold) is too soft and will deform in a couple of years and squeak. 70D is very, very hard and requires a bit of work with the proper tools to fit your shafts. 70D with gearse zerks is the way to go if you're going that route. http://www.pmbperformance.com/catalog/item...565/5297602.htm |

For the front, he doesn't have anything for the 914 rears yet. Same smooth operation as the poly-bronze, however these hold up much better against road grime. Teflon linings are heaps cheaper to replace too.

I used them, removed them, and promptly threw them in the trash. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Absolute junk. The elephant bushings were a little pricey (they came with new shafts and hardware), but were an easy install. They work as advertised. Money well spent. |
