I just reserved one for my wife and I. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) We got two queens, but are hoping to find a sitter for the boys for the weekend.

Well those five rooms didn't last long.......... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bandit.gif)
The next closest hotel that has available rooms at a reasonable price is The Bowen Hotel. It is letter "C" ON THIS MAP (host hotel is "F"). If you still need a room, I would give them a call. The manager has not called me back yet, but they do have 15 rooms available. They supposedly don't give group discounts, so feel free to book a room on your own. http://www.bowenmotel.com/ Rooms are $90ish a night. FYI: The Ramada was $199 a night and the Best Western was $185 a night. River Canyon Lodge was full. |

OK, I just sent my 77 to someone I don't know, I booked a room in a motel that I've never seen (the Bowen), I haven't even asked my wife if she wants to go yet and I'm driving a 35 yr old cantankerous car into the desert. Shit, I think I'm gonna have a great time. PS We could hire an auto carrier to take 12 of our cars then unload us 2 blocks from the hotel. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) Would it be wise to bring my atty?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) You're only in the desert till St George. You then pass into the hallowed grasslands of Utah, complete with the smell of fresh cow dung. A must see and stop is the town of Beaver ... I'll leave it to your imagination. Once past Cedar City, you make a right turn and head out over the mountains into the vast wasteland of Utah .. 125 miles or so of nothing but dirt ... then about Green River, you make a right turn and head toward the Red Rocks (Moab). 13 hours in the seat (764 miles as I remember) ... stops only for gas, grass, food and personal relief (unless you are outfitted with a Pilot Tube). My favorite is to leave Riverslime on Thur aftnoon ... stop in Mesquite, NV overnight and then make the journey to Moab arriving in time for Tequilageddon on Friday Nite. Avoid a guy wearing kilts and carrying bottles of Scottish Firewater. |

FYI: The host hotel has started a "waiting list"
They will call you if someone cancels their reservation. In the meantime, please book rooms at the other hotel I listed. See you guys in Moab (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) ------------------------------------------- And it's not 13 hours. 10 maybe. Don't listen to the grumpy guy. His idea of 13 hours in the seat is just a flashback of his prison fantasies........(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sheeplove.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

Hey Ron, The early Thrs. departure sounds good. Do I need to make reservations or does this place rent by the hour. I'll talk to you before then but I'm up for that trip. I still owe you 10 bucks, too. And listen guys. If you see any man in Kilts drop something; do us all a favor and pick it up for him. Before he bends over.
And Trojenman, I called and asked them them if they would take my info in case of a cancellation (around noon) and she told me that they would be happy to stick my name/number next to the screen but that I should probably call every few weeks because they had no automated system to track such things and they might lose my stickie next to the screen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif) It appears things have changed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) Hopefully I'm at the top of that list. I can always cancel the udder one should a cancellation occur. |

Sandy is traveling this week 7 cities in 5 days. She just emailed me and told me she may end up in India for a couple months and one of them is Sept. She emailed the new company to confirm the dates before she sends money. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
