Hey Rick, quick question. Are the sides "hot" or just the tips of the spot welder. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Hey Rick, quick question. Are the sides "hot" or just the tips of the spot welder. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Oh ya, the copper is all hot but only when you press the little button on the handle. It is possible to arc the side of the hole. I will need to make a leather sleeve for the pass through. |

Nice tool, wish I could use one a lot. The one I used in college in the 60's had a timer you adjust and a heat adjustment and it was a spot welder only. It had a three foot throat and 1 inch dia copper prongs. It had a switch but it only started the weld. I think it went to 150 amps. It may have gone to 200 amps, I know it would spot weld two pieces of 1/8 plate. Up to 1/2 spots. Spot welders make repairs look factory.

Do a google search for Lenco Panel spotter Rich. I actually had to get an adaptor to update my spotter or this would not work with mine. (too old)
