Who will pass out first ????

Who will drown Welby's son ???? ( obviously Mike will do that ) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

Will Zach show up sans mustache ????

Will Jim Kelly bring his arse out in public ????

Will Mikes bus make the trek ????

Will my 944 make the trek ???? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Will Ken show up in the Vette just to annoy us all ????

Does Pat Garvey REALLY exist ???????????

These questions and many more will be answerd tomorrow at the 1st annual GARVEY-Q !! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Oh, I exist, though I'm getting older. I don't wear diapers (YET). I smoke, I drink - sex is discretionary, and I won't change my ways. I have a couple of knees that hurt some days, some not. Have a bad hip, too. Embarassinf to get off a creeper, but I'll keep doing it until the Life Squad has to remove me.

I'm older than all of you, but.....I've had my 914 since new!

Will be bringing some "really special" Facotory posters with me & they'll be free to anyone who dares to take them.

Car is tuned up and full of gas. I even washed it!
Matt's cooler is loaded.
I will be heading out at Noon tomorrow, with E and T following in a more "sensible" car. I have ~20 cigars to share, if folks would like. Weather report is awesome with light awesome in the afternoon. I am looking forward to seeing everyone!

'The Plan' has us heading out around 1000 tomorrow, with one stop along the way, for an arrival right around 1400.

Matt has our cell number.

I donno if I'll get a chance to wash the Subie but an oil change is on the schedule for first-light.

If any of you want to measure a 3,0 Subie flat-6 for conversion possibilities - here's your big chance...

I was going to drive the 911, honestly. But I decided to change out the clutch cable first because it's been annoying me for ages. When I got it apart, I found that the pin and bushing at the pedal cluster cable end were toast, so... parts are on the way from Pelican.

My Vette is quieter than most Harleys you will see hear.

Got home last night around 10. GREAT PARTY.
we had ~5 914s (including my own), Ken's Vette, Mike's Bus, and Scott's 944, as well as the assortment of other mundane cars.

The food was excellent, the weather was great, the pool was wonderful, and the hosts were - as always - very gracious. Mad props to Catherine who made runs for ice and soda and beer even though she had just gotten home from Russia the day before!

Sadly I did not get pictures. I brought my camera, but was having too good a time to even take it out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

My car made it home okay - it actually drove perfectly until I got to within a mile of my house before the carbs started acting up again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Hey Matt & all the others - great event! Happy to finally put faces to names.

One thing, though.......the only flatulence I caught came from Scotty, not this guy!

Maybe next time we can get a few of these snazzy t-shirts?

Pat, it was great to meet you.
I was totally serious, BTW. Sometime this fall or winter invite us up and feed us. We will have your car up by the end of the weekend, if all it needs is what you were saying. We know you can do it, but it is more fun with friends. :-)

By the way, Bob thanks for tailing me home up rt15. Sorry, I missed a turn getting out of Plaskets place and that is why we went over the hills and through the woods getting back to rt15. My GPS is not always direct... I'm not sure when I lost you, but at some point I looked back an no longer saw your headlights. I appreciated the support though. Was quite happy that I did not need it. :-)

Thanks Matt and Katherine!

We had a great day and enjoyed seeing everybody, as well as meeting a few new faces. The cigarbox guitars were cool, and we got in alot of scenic routes both getting there and returning. We went north 15 to rt 30 and cut across to the east and got in about 11pm. Our only "914 moment" was when the dashlights didn't come back on after getting gas(35mpg). I wiggled the fuse and it came back and it was all good!
I did get a few pics with the camera phone, but I haven't figured out how to get them off the Droid, I'm sure there is an appt for that....

I got there late, 6-ish, but had a great time. Thanks Matt and Katherine for your always gracious hospitality. The food was awesome as well as the keg (thanks Ken) and the company. From the amount of uninhibited flatulence present, this 914 group is really close and always willing to help. No one need to be shy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .

Well it's all settlied down now. Mike and Noel left around 3 pm, with Scotty minutes later. Thanks Scotty for encouraging me to get the 911 up and running. i'll post later this week when the coil is installed.

We enjoy hosting this party. You folks that missed it really need to get out and see all of us. Perhaps next year or sooner.

We're glad everyone had a good time. I must say I am grateful to my wonderful wife who did most of the behind the scenes work arranging the food and cleaning up and packing left overs while I socialized with you all. Katherine thanks everyone who helped her in the above.

I have a bounty of leftover beer of all kinds. It will take me months to get rid of it. Pat, you plan a 'work party' and I'll bring the beverages!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Yeah man. We missed you and Jim and Jim. I guess you will just have to hold a workshop at your place in NOVA this fall to make up for it. :-)
