Matt:

Thanks to your and your wife for hosting this event. I had a great time. It was good to see some familiar faces as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Good luck getting your car started...hopefully the smoke that Dr. Evil generated under the hood was just superficial. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Pat, it was great to meet you.
I was totally serious, BTW. Sometime this fall or winter invite us up and feed us. We will have your car up by the end of the weekend, if all it needs is what you were saying. We know you can do it, but it is more fun with friends. :-)

Zach

Know what Zach, I just may take you up on that! Anyone have a prob with Nawleens RB&R, with anduille? Or would you rather have a monster bake of Tex/Mex Chili?

Either way, no smoking one hour after eating. Let's think about late October. I'll be in SC for 2-3 weeks in September, so it will have to be late Oct.

Oh, one other thing - I live in a controlled community, so there can't be any "tuning & running", cept for my car. Yeah, I know, bummer, but I have to live here.

I'm up for it if you guys are.

By the way, Bob thanks for tailing me home up rt15. Sorry, I missed a turn getting out of Plaskets place and that is why we went over the hills and through the woods getting back to rt15. My GPS is not always direct... I'm not sure when I lost you, but at some point I looked back an no longer saw your headlights. I appreciated the support though. Was quite happy that I did not need it. :-)

Zach:

No sweat, although my four banger Mazda pickup with 151,000 miles and original shocks had a rough time keeping pace in the turns! I had no GPS and no idea where I was, so I had to keep up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I lost you right before rt 30. Glad your car ran well.

Noel and I made it home without issue. The bus did very well. It did 70-80 all day long, head temps never got to 350, oil was fine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I am already interested in getting the CIS system installed as I am tired of goofing with the carb and want better mileage.

Thanks for the party, Matt and Katherine. I was a real treat for Noel and I to get to see our old friends again. I think that I will have to not be a stranger during my residency. We got home at 6pm after leaving at about 2:30. Not bad.

I sure wish I had been able to make this event but after the prerun trip to the dragon last week I had to stay closer to home. Maybe next year. I hope all of you guys will get together and convoy down to the MUSR 11 in October on the Tail of the Dragon, you will be glad you did.

I take it as a sign of success that 5 gallons of Jackstand pale ale (less about 6 glasses that I used for tasting purposes) got killed over the course of a few hours.

That stuff was amazing.

Despite the enervating 2-hr traffic delay getting there Joy and I had a great time -- Thank you Matt and Mrs Matt for hosting !

Pat - if you hold a gathering in October, we will be there. We can even help...

We had a safe and uneventful drive back up to Lancaster for our RON, spent Sunday doing the tour through Amish country thing, back home last night just before sunset.

Would have rather had a Porsche to do the trip - but it's hard to stuff an EZ-Up (which we did not need, because the weather turned out to be -perfect-) in a Porsche... Some day the 911 will be running again tho...

Matt,
Susan and I just got back from Florida today, otherwise, we'd have made it too!

That's good news. For second there I thought I'd *issed you off or sompthin' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

You (and many others) were missed!

Gaizing into the future now, [pause] Tail of the dragon Oct 14-17, then a 'get it running' event at the Garveys' Oct 23 or Oct 30 (oooh goulish!). Pat we're (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) anticipating a oppourtunity to help.

I get 2, maybe 3 mpg better across at what, twice the cost? I'd say you are doing fine. CIS would be sweet though.

Don't forget ECC in Sept.

I HAVE to get my car set for that. I am going to be greatly annoyed if I end up driving the Subaru.

Ken,
I think Evil got a lot more than I did, but it was soooo good. Thankfully (for you guys) the hops didn't kick in until later. Worth every fart, though Janice may disagree!
