Since last weekend, I've been wondering why the starter didn't engage upon hookup of the battery, and then I sort of remember that I didn't have the seat belt fastened..

Can someone give me a refresher on the seat belt / engine disable on a '74...

Under the passender seat, the two large yellow wires need to be connected together.

Just for the edification, the seatbelt interlock system simply ensures that IF there is a weight in the passenger seat, their seatbelt must be latched before the engine will start.

But Mike is absolutely right on the bypass trick.

I did not realize your seat belt warning system actually works. I've never seen one working...
