nice swiss cheese Andy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

you used 1.5 and 2" hole saws?s
how difficult is it to get the covers off of the supports?

I believe they were 3/4 and 1" and my large drill press. The covers were pretty easy to take off. I left them in the sun for a while. I think I used a screw driver to pop out the center of each rivet. Then just pry off each end. I don't remeber if I wrecked the rivets, but I replaced most of them. I think I got them at local flaps/pep boys.

Zach, do you have pics of how the back side looked after removing the beams and how did you mount them to the shocks after that modification? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

All that time with a plasma cutter and keep the shocks? No way! Shocks got binned. I made some metal brackets to bolt the bumpers back on. Ditching the shocks saved me a good 20lbs.

Truth be told, I've considered switching to rechromed early bumpers or reproductions, but the existing BUBs are growing on me.

I have a 75 but decided to backdate the bumpers. I'm probably prohibited from posting pics of my car pre-backdate...
