Is the 914 high-beam/low-beam relay a standard type of relay, and if so what type?
Of course and I can replace it with this: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/...76%29%2C%20Each But I'm just curious what it is... SPDT? SPST? Something else? For reference: http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp -Steve |

It is a mechanical relay. The momentary coil triggers, it pulls a cam past a pin that moves the cam. the coil triggers again, the same pin moves the cam to the other side. It works as a toggle. You can replace it with a $5 SAAB HL relay. You just have to add a ground and power lead to the relay. All other terminal #s are the same. You CAN NOT replace it with a standard SPST or DPST or DPDT. I did a write up on how to do this mod.

> Below you will see how to wire up an electronic relay.
Awesome! That's exactly what I was looking for. I was guessing that there would be a better component for this now. -Steve |

And I just found one on eBay for $5.95, free shipping... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Here is a decent search for the part (the Saab relay seems to be a popular choice): http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=head+ligh...ay+-bulb+-bulbs -Steve |
