I was wondering what makes these two items different...is the 911 rotor machined different for the parking brake? Will the 911 rear rotor work on the 914-6?
Anyone have a used 914-6 and early 911 rear rotor they'd like to give me? |

Mike,
the rotors are different.. its not a bolt on thing.. I've done it on a rear that I ran vented.... The 911 parking brake is inside of a drum type hub in the rotor... (big heavy drum type hub)... Thus the 914/6 parking brake was not and required a special rear caliper... (the reason these calipers are rare).... To use the 911 rotor you will also have to turn it down in over all diameter.. and I also had to run a 2mm shim (wheel spacer) behind it.. (the reason I had 52mm studs on that car).. brant |
