Any opinions on what I should do to the arms while they are off? I will reinforce them like the AA trailing arm plates before I paint them. Has anyone ever considered having these parts plated for corrosion resistance during a refurb? That would get the insides as well as the outsides.... Stu I'm not sure about plating, never gone through the process. Keeping the bearing races clean might be an issue. I taped over the bearing races with gorilla tape and tossed them in a poly cement mixer with a bunch of sand for a couple of hours. Clean as a whistle. Then added reinforcement, tumbled them shortly again and had them powder coated. Since I was there, did new bushings too. |
