I really like the body color bumpers on this car. I'd love to see some of the color combos without the accent color on the bumpers, just the valance and rockers. Creamsicle with chromes that's just plain fuch'n nice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

And with painted bumpers for comparison Now try the bumpers the same color as the major body color. Maybe chuckc can help you out with that one. I've got to run. If not, I'll try it out a little later. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) |

I have wanted to do s similar look for my 76. Kind of a look to to what a 76 creamsicle might have looked like. But I can't figure how to make it look right with the black bumpers. My thought is to have a version where all of the orange is black. Can any of you PS guys show me what it might look like with a 5 lug conversion?

These combinations rock! Can't believe how neat they look, and I also like the 70s vintage feel to these.
Can't make up my mind if I like the 15 or 17" Fuchs look better. The 15" ones have a more old school feel. |

Guess I have to change my plans (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I've tried to get 2 customers to let me do this and finally decided to do my car this way. PLan 2 might be in effect now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Should have asked me Scotty, I have been considering the flared creamsicle all along to go with my Bee, even considered doing it Bee style to go with my original Bee. Now I am totally confused to what I want. I think at one time I even told you that you could do what ya wanted as long as it was tasteful. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

It looks pretty interesting with the Big Rubber Bumpers. Here is a 1976 Creamsicle Tribute car that is well done. It is a real car not P-chopped.

I think I like the white sail panel and the black roof the best. Thanks for photo shopping. I showed it to my wife and she asked "did you hit the lottery or just your head" She did think it looked cool but thought I should finish with my car and leave it black and get it on the road before I think about a new project. I did remember that I have had the car completely stripped to bare metal and repainted around 18 years ago. So maybe I should just finish it as is and look for another down the road. After all my wife did say I could start another project when I finish this one...at least that is how I took it and I figure I could get you guys to support me on that. I am putting in a 2.7 so it won't be a screamcicle but it will move fast enough (for now). Find your wife a boyfriend then youcan get away with whatever kind of project you want. Thanks for all of the PS paint options. Really cool to see. And Jeff, thanks for the 76 pic. It even has the white interior like mine. Really helps me clear up my vision of my future car.

Just wanted to add - it's not exactly photoshop, but I love the configurator that Johannes built on the French 914 club website.

I gotta say, I've never been a big fan of the Creamsicle or the 'elusive' Grasshopper paint schemes.. BUT.. those photoshops make them look incredible! I think its the combination of the flares, the 5 spoke fuchs with painted paddles only, and the color choices - the orange is a little more 'burnt' and the green looks a little darker.
Good luck making a decision now! |

Great job chuck!!!!! The blue is a little light for my taste but it certainly fits right into the theme ...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
My favorite so far. 914's are sooo cool. Indeed!!! I am wondering if the entire center of the fuchs should be painted key color or just the surface of the paddles? [/quote] (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Yeah, that would back fire, knowing my luck she would end up getting the car in the split. Although... I did dump a girlfriend because she said my car was ugly, and never went on a second date with another because she said I should sell my car for the money to buy a "nicer Porsche, like a 911". First of all she called it a Porsche (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) second "like a 911" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) Believe it or not I went looking for a 914 on craigslist to see if there was one out there. I almost bought a 73 2.0L last year for $500 but chickened out because I couldn’t get a good look under the battery tray. The engine lid release snapped when the guy pulled on it to show me. It was even white. I have a set of fake Fuchs and extra set of rear fiberglass flares. I also have the stuff to drill out the rotors to change to five lugs. If I didn’t mess with the motor or suspension stuff I would just need front flares and paint and of course hours of body work. This is really bad I need to commit myself for rehab |
