Great thread.

It really makes me want a vintage race car with history.

It has been almost a week since the race and I am finally getting around to posting some pictures. It was nearly 100 degrees out last Sunday but the race must go on.
We had 4 914s in the race and 3 of us had somewhat equal combination of performance/drivers skill.

My friend Tim (Polizei 914) and I had a good run, I tried to keep his mirrors filled but in the end his 2.9L edged out my 2.2L engine.

Really enjoyed looking at your racing / renovation pictures.

Question: Wouldn't it help your top end speed if you put the top on?

We had a double race weekend and it rained during practice yesterday.
I love driving in the rain so I ended up being 1 of 3 cars that were on the track...what a great time!

Typical 914 defrosters I see! Reminds me of a rainy trip home from Dallas in a 914.

I came around a corner an saw my friend Tim (Polizei914) blocking the track! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
Attached Image

I made it around Tim and lost concentration and went wide on a rumble strip and ground down a banjo fitting on the 23 mm master cylinder. Next corner no brakes
Attached Image

managed to stop the car without incident but my day was over.
