Adding this to it would make it even more fun.

I asked how much they think it will weight.....
"Our best guess is 1250-1300 pounds with all fluids but no driver / passenger. We are right around 980 as it sits. We still have to add a battery, exhaust, engine accessories (alterntaor, cooling fan and tins), fuel plumbing and pump, paint, wiring, lights, and some body trim. While I have read repeatedly that the subaru motor weighs less, I can't believe that to be true, so I am guessing the Subaru versions will be around 1500 or so." |

That sounds about right, in line with this site where the 2 are compared somewhat generally. They say the suby weighs about 110lbs more, 35 for the motor, 75 for the radiator. Me too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I look at that car and I think some of the bars could be cut out/not needed. Just seems a bit too much. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) |

I've said it before and I'll say it again - your car is my favorite piece of engineering on this site. If you lived in California I'd have to make you an offer you couldn't refuse to convert my 3.0 to resemble yours... |

That Atomish frame thing needs to be simplified for sure. And as much as I lust over Paul's AX beast, I need to be able to drive it on the street. Having driven a rail buggy before, I think that a big-ass wing on the front would be way more appropriate. Given that one was rear-engined.
Don't get me wrong - I love the looks of this thing, and I think that it would be a blast to drive. But I also think that it would be an air-tunnel disaster and the wing on the back is purely for aesthetics. |

This is a street car. The wing needs to be placed for downforce where its really needed for its application. I'm with you on the wind tunnel. That's exactly what would be needed to stop the speculation about the wing placement. |

The "real" Atoms don't have wings as a rule. But the few that do have them higher up in the air.
But that car looks mean as hell. Looks like a lot of fun. Zach |

I guess its just me, but I dont like it. the first pics without bodywork sure make it look like a sandrail buggy with the wrong wheel and tire package.
the rails seem to have a lot less of an "exo-skeleton" look to them than the Atom. Maybe some better body panels to cover more of the dune buggy-ish rals would help. But, I will pass. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) What they managed to do is really amazing from an engineering stand point, designing, fabricating, and building your very own car. Amazing, but the ariel atom seems to have much better "body" lines, in a way it seems to flow better. |

Wow!!
But PLEASE do something about that exhaust system! So much is being lost in tunability, HP and TQ without a common collector. |
