With shipping and 20% off on an order over $400 at Performance Products, I just spent (IMG:style_emoticons/default/new_shocked.gif) $910.03 on...

RUBBER!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/bananabang.gif)

And I already have inner door seals, targa seal, engine seals, and a front rear trunk seal.

Thanks to Kevin and Danny the front and rear suspension is ready for bead blasting and powder coating. We managed to strip the front and rear control arms of bearings and bushings in 90 minutes yesterday at Kevin's I'll post some pics later after today's 914 mountain run.

Updated: 10/21/2007 Click on the last page link. OR Click on the last page link. - HERE

The 914/6 "rust"oration process has officially begun. I sure hope I can get out for less than $10k. Plan on some stupid CW type questions in the near future. I love pics BTW. I have some nice /4 parts to sell off to help offset the cost of this project.

Motor/tranny have been removed (many thanks to Brant, Scott, Mike and Jon for the assistance). The interior will be gutted this week. I need to remove little stuff like the fuel pump, lines, drain the tank, you get the idea. Then I get to start cutting up the parts car and stripping paint off panels to avoid spending $45/hour for body shop labor.

As Rich says, "onward..."

2.0/6 motor width thread

Pretty nice weather today so I took the afternoon off. I could use a break.

I believe this is one of the oldest restoration threads on 914world. Might be time to resuscitate it. Lots of memories in this thread. Good times... Has it really been 8 years since I took this thing apart? If I ever get the new garage organized I will finally have some room to start on this project. Something other than collecting parts that is.

Yeah, that won't work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Shar and I went across town for dinner tonight. Picked up some used CD's from Twist & Shout while I was down there.

I did fix the tach on the zambeziteen though. Now I can drive it the rest of the week when it's 60 out and have some idea how fast I'm going (speedo cable is shot).

I was wondering what ever happened to this build, so I went looking.

I've got to say (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) Gint.

Send it to me. You can drive it home in six months. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif)

Appreciate that Joe, but the I won't be sending a car off to either coast again any time soon.

Keeping your project in a 18x20 box loaded with every other piece of junk you own while raising three kids can really put a damper on your 914 project progress. Those in a similar situation will no doubt understand. I have room now, but doesn't it figure that now I have a 50+ hour a week job. But without a doubt, it'll get some action this summer for sure.
