Front monoballs, a Canadian supplier has monoballs, they list for $195Canadian that's about $143.USD (plus shipping, todays exchange rate) and if we have a group buy going we may even get them for less. I what to see how many people we have interested, so I have a rough number before I email him.

I'm willing to put this together and collect the cash, but we may need a person in the US who is willing to receive and distribute them. I will do this BUT I would have to pay 7% tax (GST) on the order if it's shipped to me in Canada.

This is the link to the supplier:

I'm interested, but I'd like some more data on the items. It would give me a warm and fuzzy feeling if some of our more performance-oriented Club Members had an opportunity to see these.

This is true.
I could get a set (as long as I got a credit on the group buy thingy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) but I really don't know what to look for. I could take pic's, etc.

Could someone with race experience chime in on the advantages of this set up. Is it any good for people with stock suspensions, etc?

Also, how do you mount the things?

How about a group buy on the "BUMB Steer Kit"? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif)

Just kidding (check the last listing on that linked page).

I have these but really just installed them so really dont know how great it is till i have had some decent seat time with them. One issue is that they may not give enough camber for performance/race tires like hoosiers.

I don't have this brand, mine came out of texas...
but I have run front mono's for a dozen years.....

They do transfer a lot of road noise.
they do transfer a lot of vibration.

They are not very noticeably different... they should hold front alignment settings better in a corner/with full race tires... but its not a huge, noticeable change.....

I'm putting them on my new race car also...
but not a very necessary street car item

IMHO, mondo balls are a waste of money for a street car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Mono balls in conjunction with camber plates or offset mounts are a gud thing for a race...or wannabe race car(like mine).

I have a similar set of monoballs on both my cars. To install these you press out the rubber bushing and thread the monoball in the camberplate.

Yes they do transfer more noise and vibration

And yes they do hold the alignment more precisely

for a street only car I think they're a waste

Since I started this, I'd better say that I'd be in on a group by. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

There are about 5-6 different monoballs sellers/types out there and these are the cheapest I've found.

...sorry, late this topic, but - yes - I do run a VARAC vintage racer with the APF monoballs. Price is the best, delivery on time, installation super smooth. I've done three races so far, and no doubt the car feels more consistent through the turns, but I can't swear it's the monoballs since I made a number of other small changes over the winter at the same time. The strut tops were the last bit of rubber on the car, so of course they had to go. If anyone wants, I can post a pic later, but there's not a lot to see.

I don't think there is enough interest for a group buy.

Once I heard that they add more vibration to the car and they are a bit of a waste, on a street car, I sort of lost interest myself.

If someone else wants to do this go ahead.
