I mentioned this on FB...

If you are going to keep it together and displayed, put it in a model car case. All the little dimples in Legos collect dust like nobodies business, and dusting Legos will eventually break the model.

Yeah, I know, I have a few that dust gets everywhere. I looked for a plastic case but have yet to find one large enough that I like. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
