more about the interior, please! is that a getty dash?

engine from a buick grand national (turbo v6)?

i like the radiator install. looks like you've left room for a spare?

Getty? No, it's a full dash from a 78 911SC. The engine started life as a NA 3.8L. Yes a space saver spare is fitted to the front.

I am so glad to see er done, we all have had to suffer through our setbacks as you did on Das3.8, enjoy the ride while we still have some nice weather. Maybe we should do one last drive together before the weather turns, grab some photo's for all to enjoy....

Oh, and next time we race i wont be holding onto a cup of hot coffee .....

For all of you, Paul and i let off right in time as there were 2 patrol cars up at the next intersection plus Ollie and i and the cars interior was doused in our coffee, i think i was a little ahead...but that's debatable......Paul said he lifted.......but he also had a jump start on me... after my turbo lag and blast off as i remember i was juggling a coffee cup and i was a little ahead... it all happened so fast, Paul is the only one who really knows....

Would love to see some more detailed pictures of your space saving spare bracket! I'm going to do the same thing for my V8 car to try to ballast some weight forward in the car and retain rear trunk space.

I see you have the tire mounted more towards the drivers side, any reason for that other than clearing your coolant resevoir? Does it affect airflow much, if at all? Did you have to remove the gas tank or did you just tack a bracket to that front wall? Any bracing?

I mounted it to the side to make for more clearance around the cooling lines , fuel pump and filter. Along with the bracket I made a cradle to support the weight of the spare tire so it did not only hang by the bracket. The car was completely dis-assembled when I put in the bracket so the was no worries about a gas tank. So far I've had no problems with cooling.

It's a 3.8L Buick RWD V6. .030 over with 9.5:1 pistons, Lunatti BM II cam, Harland Sharp roller rockers, Cloyes Double roller timing chain. Manley performance SS valves, Some head porting, Sanderson headers, Holley intake and a Holley HP fuel injection system. I have no real numbers on hp but it should be around 275hp which is a good balance for a car of this size.

Yes, it's a heat shrink band made by Gates. Absolutely no leaks and it self tightens with every heat cycle. Only drawback is that it's not servicable, you have to use a new one if you take it apart. They're only a couple of bucks and make for a much cleaner installation.
