Kevin was Britneys MD and is now Madonnas MD. I thought he might be controlling the goings on in the studio when she was there... Cause Lord knows she can't do it. LOL

You got that right Eric! She probably showed up for 20 percent of her studio bookings. Did you ever see the TMZ piece they did of her going into a gas station bathroom and making phone calls? Well you can hear her assistant demanding to talk to Sam. She was calling our studio to book time. Sam was the engineers assistant. She never showed for that gig either. Such a troubled soul.

Played bass for Carlos in the earyly sixties. Flew to London and sat in on Bass when Paul wanted to play keyboard. Did lots of stuff for the Stones in the seventies (they don't have a regular bass guy). Look for my name on some of the early albums. Toured with Rod Stewart in '76 but he fired my ass. The guy is a real dick! Played with C S N & Y. Niel Young has the worst voice ever.

My mom was a music teacher for 40 years and has a masters in concert piano. She can play like the devil. She also hated me and never taught me a damn thing.

I play the guitar and piano but not that well. I do it because I can't get the music out of my head, and what I hear is never complete.

IMHO - a music studio that perpetuates the '80s rock anthems and ballads would do very well.

I've played the guitar for about 16years, hence my love for music.

I've dabbled in drums, and can honestly say I'm better at drums sober than Scotty B is after a few cocktails. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

Lately I've been wanting to pick up a ukulele to strum on. I'd also like to pick up a harmonica to mess around with. I attribute that to my, politics aside, Neil Young fanhood.

I've always wanted to learn piano as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It is always interesting to see what we have in common considering that we come from varied walks of life on this site. I have tried to go to other forums and have been largely dissatisfied, and sometimes pissed off at how the people are on them. I have met several hundred of you from this site and could not ask for a better group of people to hang with. Besides our love of the 914, how many of you also play instruments?

As many of you know, I am a musician. I ask the above question from curiosity and because I have an ulterior motive. I have a friend that is Beta testing his new site www.JamZoom.com which is for musicians.

There are other sites out there for musicians, but this one is intended to fill a void/niche that those seem to be missing:

*Content and community site in one. (forums and press releases and videos etc)
*Ability to post videos on the site
*Ability to post videos in the threads
*All new technologies (html5 etc.)
*One stop shop for musicians

My friend's site needs beta testers. Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think. He is OUR kind of people, trust me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I figure another place to populate with like-minded musicians would be pretty cool. This atmosphere with a different focus (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb3d.gif)

I'm still trying to be a guitar player. I'd be happy if I was as good a player as my guitars are to instruments.

I'm with a part time cover band right now, but we only do about one gig a month and so far it's been for private parties, which is much better than bars.

I played violin and double bass in school. 1st chair on both.
Played bass in a metal band for a while.
I can play violin, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, and some on the piano.
Or anything with strings I guess. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
But... My good cello and bass guitar were stolen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)

I don't play enough lately.

Started playing keyboards in 57 at the age of 5. By 10 I was equipped with a VOX Jaguar and played a lot of silly stuff, but lessons was having me play a lot of Bach organ works.

By 66, I was playing in bands that eventually played a lot at Teendevous in Shrewsbury, and at Red Bank Catholic, Christian Brothers Academy (my old school), Monmouth College, and we opened several times for Bruce's band, Earth, and many times for Steven (now called Little Steven) and his band was named Flowers. They were smokin' hot, and Steven sang almost all the songs. I actually learned guitar by watching both Bruce and Steven, and my guitar player, Jack, who was possibly the best player of all in 1966-70.

Jack had drug issues, hence no last names. My bands were named Fresh, then we went country rock/country funk and changed our names to Buckwheat. I played only keyboards then, but we had a riotous time!

In college, at Seton Hall, Max was seemingly rooming across the hall in the Men's Dorm for a bit, along with Gene, Southside's bassist. John Hall (Not the Jon Hall NY State Congressional Rep! - ANOTHER John Hall) was lost to me in the corridors of time, but he was another SMOKIN' guitarist along with Dickie Orleans and there was always others hanging around teaching me many guitar licks. I mean MANY. They were very gracious and generous to me.

I left the NY/NJ scene for St. Louis, where I did not play out for 7 years from 81-88. We were having babies.

I took back to playing out in 1994. Never was rusty like a 914 floorpan, because I always practiced. A LOT.

Well, at this point at almost 60, I have a ton of guitars, keyboards, basses, and every amp you can imagine. I played a lot in a country band in the 90's as their bassist. Led and was led astray in many garage bands all my life.

Recorded a 6 song demo in NY that our drummer ripped off in 1980 due to coke deals gone bad, and the movie Babylon Pink has our songs. The first thing you hear at the opening of the movie is me singing.

Most of our music got onto that vile video. I am not proud of that, but it is hilarious to hear your own demo while squishy squealy is going on.

Otherwise, I have been a happy musician since 1957, because I make my living in satellites, not standing on a riser at Friday midnight trying to shake my fat ass and look very serious.

I shake my 914's asses instead!

John

I'm a mix engineer. I play bass, guitar, and even sing pretty well. And I can usually squeeze out 4 or 5 seconds of really solid drumming or keyboards before it all turns to (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif)

Played in guitar in a few bands, one of them got some interest from Elektra. But after hearing play backs in the control room at Hyde Street Studios; I stopped worrying about sound quality in cars. After you’ve heard good; there’s no point in shooting rubber bands at the moon. So I tend not to get too over excited about everyone’s rave about their latest sound set up.

Not really sure if I'd consider myself a musician, though I do love playing music. I was an awesome trombonist in High School, I also fiddle around with the Guitar, Keyboard, Banjo, and Bagpipes of all things! I love any kind of instrument though, these are just the ones I've had the pleasure of messin with.

The picture sucks, but it's me and my band director at my senior Christmas concert.

Played weekly until a year ago, mainly Bass and lead vocals but everything overall.

Have a nice studio at the house and a box trailer full of JBL speakers and Crown amps gathering dust in the pole barn (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Love Steinbergers! Have played a XL2T Bass for over 20 years. Finally was able to afford a Steinberger GL hard tail 6 string last year.

Worked for CBS in the early eighties was a final stage electronic tech for the Rhodes (Arp) Chroma (AMAZING analog synthesizer!!!) and Fender amps.

My Daughter is 21 has been playing Bass seance she was 15. She plays a Warwicks Thumb 4 string and a Corvette 5 string and she is amazing.

Like Rock and even some of the new heavier stuff

But I Love my 914 as well!!!
