Moved the 914's to install a new ceiling fan in the shop. Actually working on the 911 putting new on new calipers from Eric... they looked so good on the '73 914!

Big thanks to Keith (914Toy). We lowered the front and rear, reinfected a Torsion bar, installed the tie-rod bump steer kit, and aligned the car. Watching an experienced person is great; learned a lot and found that lowering a car can run into unexpected issues.
Here’s the before pic

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) looks great Jim! The shop here wants $400 for the half day he says it will take to lower balance and realign. I am afraid to get into this myself as you said if you lower everything changes and has to be reset. How long did it take?

We were at it about 5 hours; several unanticipated issues were addressed. Fortunately, Keith's experience got the project over several bumps. We also did the "string" alignment; that added an hour by itself.

Not exactly "today", but I made a push starting on the 30th of June:

1. Pull the motor,
2. Remove old heads, install new re-built heads and valve train,
3. Pull out all L-Jet FI components out of storage and build the engine back up with L-Jet.
4. Install motor
5. New fuel lines/hoses/fuel pump, etc.

Drove to Cannon Beach, OR on the 2nd in time for the 4th of July parade. Threw about 15 lbs. of candy for all the kids. Got back last night. A round trip of about 700 miles with no issues. 914 back on the road!

I finally dug into my firewall project and did some soundproofing in anticipation of the Perlon that will be going in on the firewall and floors.

I also ground off the four clips that previously held the back pad on. Gonzo. Very dirty job.

The sound deadener I used is a product made by Noico and it's black with a diamond pattern. Great stuff!

The difference sound-wise in the inside of the car is stunning. SO much better, I wish I would have done this two years ago.

Terrible picture.
