Thanks @Cairo94507 . It was a battle taking off the undercoating, I did the wheel wells and the shop did the rest (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). Heat gun + carburetor cleaner + 15 hours, and then texture and paint...

A 75-mile drive this morning.

One of the other locals pulled out right in front of us (even with our two 55W H3 fog lights on as DRLs):

Wife.gov (passenger) hollered "Hey Y'all, watch this!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) (she's a Tarheel, so she comes by it naturally). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It does look like it's possible though...

@Nacho Hey they have it sitting outside so the paint is drying and hardening. When the do cut and buff it will look like a mirror. Great to see a freshly painted chassis. Think how much it will be to bolt all the new shiny parts on! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Several years ago some jerkwad drove his tractor out of a field onto the road in front of us in Peeples Valley, AZ while were traveling Highway 89 from Prescott down to Tuscon. He kicked up a shitload of gravel & rocks which cracked my windshield.

I pulled around in front of him and forced him back onto the dirt and attempted to get his driver's license & insurance documents. He locked himself in the tractor and I ended up calling the Sheriff's department. The Sheriff (get this), told me just to file a claim against my insurance company (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

What ever happened to personable responsibility? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

@euro911 - I can sympathize with you. Earlier this year, February I think, I was crusing down one of our Bay Area freeways and hit a pothole that was full of water on a wet road. Could not see it. It ripped the sidewall off my tire and damaged the rim and knocked the front end out of alignment. I got a bid for the repair work that came to about $400. I had photos, dates, time, etc.

I contacted CalTrans, the agency responsible for maintaining our highways, and submitted the claim which ended up being for about $300 as I had a road hazard warranty on the tire so I got a new tire for free. CalTrans, some non-English first language speaker, who I could barely understand, called and denied my claim. She said CalTrans had no knowledge of a pothole at that location. I replied the entire freeway in that area is nothing but potholes. She laughed, copped and attitude and said to sue them in Small Claims court. I know I would have prevailed in Small Claims as I had all of the documentation but to do that I would have to spend about 2 hours preparing for the hearing and then 4 hours going to court and presenting the case. So 6 hours for about $300 is a non-starter for me.

I no longer like California and I am a native born Californian. California was once the Golden State but now it is the dirty brown state thanks to all of the vandalism, garbage, homeless, illegals, thugs, etc. Shame.

My wife and I just started talking about selling and moving out of California and buying 10 acres and building a nice home and 6 car garage. Of course my brother would do the same. Maybe we will buy the land together and put two house on it, each with an attached garage for the daily drivers and then build a large 6 car garage for our toys. Anyway, it's at the talking and research stage for now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
