Did some "wrapping".... matted out a few pieces of roll bar trim. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf6avddadF8 Nice I didn't have the patience to wrap my trim so I brought in a local gal to do my 914 and Jerry's 914 (LS1V8Jerry) Came out great!!!! Oscar I'd sure like to find a local "wrapper" to do my entire car while she is in hibernation. |

Washed it, drove it, and then put it back in the carport next to my other 30 + year old vehicle. Then I covered it with it's new winter blanket from CoverCraft.

Started the paint restoration on a 46K mile original 76 2.0. Car was probably in storage since the 90’s, and it took three passes with a clay bar to get it to stop turning black from the oxidation and dirt. Cut polished with three different products and levels of wool pad, and then soaked all night in #7, followed by wolfgang.
The first pic was after washing and one pass of the clay bar. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() ![]() |

Started preparing to drop the engine for the first time. Removed the engine bay lid and found the brackets damaged and a PO fix of riveting a piece of aluminum angle iron below to keep them in place. That explains why the hatch was always a bit wobbly and sitting low. I may weld in angle iron to replace the brackets themselves - unless they are bolted in behind the seat back. Either way I am not touching this bit until I have the engine out ...

Still trying to get engine clean to tear down for top-end rebuild.
Ordered front & rear engine seals, pick up soon. Prepped new impeller for installation. High-lighted 27 deg. mark with thin white paint on groove, red stripes on both sides, duplicated on pulley side. Original impeller was missing 3 blades. Received new SS exhaust from George and is it beautiful. Great price too. GN |

Might just try to tack them back together where cracked as they seem tight to the firewall. Just need to remove the bolt very messily welded to the right bracket ... |

That’s great… started on the trunk, which has three small places where paint is chipped.. notice that the lid still has factory sticker (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() ![]() |

Took the 80’s Porsche plaque off the back and was surprised to find the emblems (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). PO used black silicon to stop the taillight water leaks.. also did the fronts!… luckily I have a full NOS set of lights for the car. Looks like some welding and painting to fix this egregiousness!! Going to pull the bumper (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) Don't feel too bad we just weathered a 48" snowfall with 70mph winds last weekend. Countdown to saltfree roads begins soon |
