Finished the filler work on the drivers side. Slicksand tomorrow. Takes me forever because I'm an ameteur. Not looking forward to the trunks, cowl and engine bay.

Finished preserving my original floor pans (de-tar, de-seam sealer, wire wheel everything, ospho, 2 coats rust bullet). I may brush on some new seam sealer this week.

I finished the 5 lug conversion.

Those wheels really look nice, especially with the black car. Even though my car is yellow, black is my favorite color on a 914. Mike

How do you like working with Rust Bullet? Are you going to top coat over it? When I restored my LoCort I used RB with good results but the purists frowned on it.....I just said it's my car and I'll do what I want with it and that was the end of that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I went on a drive with the Death by VW club on the south side of Mt. Baker then had a late breakfast there. Always a nice drive in that area....lots of twistys. Oh, I was the only air-cooled there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

So far, so good. I haven't had great luck with POR-15 (and neither have many others), so I figured I'd try RB. The pros recommend epoxy primer, but I'm not really set up to spray. My floor pans were in really good shape to begin with. Arizona/California car and I don't intend on ever taking this out in winter or rain here.

Brushing RB on was super easy. I applied 2 coats. No topcoat. I'll be putting dynamat-type stuff over most of the floor pans to replace the tar.

As I understand it, the Ospho is what does all the work with stopping rust. The RB just seals the metal and prevents moisture from getting in. Let's see how it holds up.

Thanks for that! Have fun with your progress.

Finally built up the courage to pull the rockers of a newly purchased 75 2.0.

Not too bad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Enlarged the air inlet opening in anticipation of summer temps coupled with the addition of AC. Also, added an aluminum pan to improve airflow. Previously, it just stepped up appx 2". Now it slopes.

First drive of the year on a sunny 70 degree mid-cal winter morning. Top off of course.

Work was closed today due to snow so I finally had some time to get my 914 running. I rebuilt the fuel distributor (CIS) and got it back together.

I was stoked so I took it for some victory laps in my field. Had a blast. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

These were at the front door (I unpacked them for the photo op) when I got home today. Bilsteins with collars and springs. Fully adjustable.

BTW, I can't say enough good things about Clint at Rebel Racing!

What size did you get? I have there 175 lb springs on the rear of my car.
Seems to work nice with my 21mm torsion bars up front.
I need to go to an autocross to know for sure
I adjusted them for a 1/2" rake front to rear
