I schultzed the underside of the trunk and cleaned up the heat shield ready to be bolted back on rather than welded.

So close to finally getting an engine/trans back in after approximately 22 years without them!

Finished pulling the entire wiring harness, minus the fog light and heater motor bits which will be grafted into the Subie harness. Good to finally get it out of the way!

Spent some time working on my own car ...............
1. Replaced the failed fuel pump.

2. Swapped out the Mini Light wheels I bought from Doug.

3. Then installed the recovered seats and hand stitched visors I had done 7 years ago.

My front bumper top was in pretty bad shape so I decided to spruce it up. 3 of the 5 bolts were rusted out so I hit up the hardware store and Pep Boys and picked up some stainless fender washers and M6x1.00 machine screws and tac welded them together. Cleaned out as much loose rust in the holes of the rubber top and filled it with Dap rapidfuse glue and permatex black silicone before installing the new bolts. Sealed them up with more silicone flush with the openings.

Cleaned up the top area and took some Dupli Color bumper/trim paint and and resprayed it. Extremely happy with the results so far even though it still sounds like a rain stick due to all the loose rusted steel inside!

Will install once I've got my fogs and horns cleaned up.

We're rebuilding my wife's 1.7L motor to a 1911. The P&Cs from it are available if you're planning to refresh yours as a 1.7L (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Today I drove to Bruce Stone's shop in Riverside and purchased then picked up a replacement tranny (transmission.........) to use while I have my box (transmission....) refurbished.

The tranny (pictured) is a converted tail-box so we both believe that the innards are most likely upgraded or at least checked out while being converted to a side shift box.

Oh Yeah,... and I spent an hour in the glass bead box cleaning 40 years of grime off the box / if it is going in my 6, it is going to be clean and oil free........

I locked Elvira in the hot and stuffy garage, and took the Cayman for a drive in the fresh, cool mountain air.

Wow. That’s pretty bad. I have a spare set of 1.7 cylinders I’m not going to need. Let me know if you need them. Pistons, rings, and pins included.

If only I could fit my trans in the sandblaster that I have. I was planning to go after mine with small wire wheels. Open to other suggestions.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) What in the Hell are you going to do to a car that doesn't need any work done to it. Blasphemy I say, downright blasphemy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

Two weeks ago I gave my car a real workout. Chicago to Toronto to the Florida keys and back to Chicago. About 5K in 2 weeks. All in all everything went well. I picked up bad gas in Tennessee. Real bummer. I did get home OK but I had work to do. I installed a new fuel filter with a proper one and that seemed to fix that. I had a problem with the throttle body acting sticky. This was a real bummer in construction traffic. I rebuilt the throttle body and OMG what a difference. She runs like new. I readjusted the headlight to fit the hood better. I lost some chrome trim on the windshield and received a rock on the glass which caused a crack. Next project.

C&C north Scottsdale- got there a lot earlier than I needed to! Another 914 showed up- backdated'75 with 3.2 etc. Put a 911 dash in it- not my cup of tea, but done nicely in a rare green colour.
The mexico blue 993 next to me belongs to Jim Patrick of PMS...Attached Image
