Body work done, with the GT fibreglass bits fitted and finished off to fit a little better. Car comes home now to strip the rest of paint in prep for new paint. It's sitting high as its engineless...

Much love for those wheels, great build BTW!

Unpacked the SUV and settled in my cat / then uncovered the 914. Two+ weeks of leaves and dust and grime are now thereon / Tomorrow AM the little critter gets fired up and we will take a run up a mountain road or two. maybe catch up with Euro 911

pix to follow.

Merry Christmas

Many reasons, I have a daughter that's 3 years old now...so I had to get the house ready (built a basement bathroom and refinished the whole basement, along with other stuff like a nursery/bedroom etc).

This past year I've been rapidy accumulating parts and sent the engine out for rebuild/case work (takes long when you don't pay the rush/convenience fees). Have most everything done/bought, just need to get it all together once the engine is done.

just teasing you of course - that is one great reason! you will get there eventually! just keep plugging away- i have 3 girls, almost grown up now- 21, 18(in 2 weeks) and 13- they grow up fast so enjoy every minute - heres a pic with my youngest last month at cars and
coffee

Front drivers take 3. Trimmed mounting bolts and the brackets are black. Probably the only idjot that needs multiple tries to get it right. Using rear defroster switch for lights. iPhone pics are so bizarre. Post the first pic and in preview it is upside down. Go back to pic and invert it and repost and again appears upside down. WTF?

Did you use the holes where the rubber bumperettes would be mounted or are these new holes you drilled? Also, what brackets are you using? I have two sets of 6” Cibie’s to mount. Some yellow fogs that will mont in front of where the original fog lights go and then two driving lights to mount similar to what you have done with yours. I don’t Have any mounting brackets yet.

Couldn’t use the existing 2 holes in the bumper, too close to the grills, see version 1. Drilled pilot holes then used conical bits to finish the job. I made the brackets out of 1.5” aluminum flat stock cut and shaped with angle grinder. Getting the brackets powder coated satin black. Only bummer is at idle with a carbed 6 no matter how to tight everything is synched up, the lights have a slight vibration. At speed, shouldn’t be an issue

Pic of the mounting, the light is bigger than the bumper. I wouldn't cut up a metal bumper to mount headlights.

Finally, some work related to my 914...

Removed the main cylinder studs this morning while the kids sleep/play on their phones and the wife is making pecan/sweet potato casserole!

Noticed one of the smaller studs is bent pretty good. Will have to source another one.

Didn't drive any P cars today, but did get a chance to finish the latest issue of 000. Fascinating reading, but no real 914 content this month.

Highly recommend a subscription though- Pete is a real 914 guy.
