I had seen them back in the 70's, but mostly on Bugs/VWs, & then with that silver background area between the spokes blacked out so it doesn't look so much like a UFO. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/very_first_smiley[1].gif)

Those aren't Riv hubcaps as far as I know. Prolly some aftermarket generic.

There were Riv and Fuchs hubcaps available from P-car dealers...here are two shots, see my website for more pics:

I HAD the same ones on mine when I got it. Wasn't sure if it was stock or not. When I took them off, I seen (us patents) on the back. So seeing now how rare they are, I may have to sell them on E-Bay! $1,000.00 Reserve. You can convert your 4 lug to 5 in minutes! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)
