I wasn't sure that I would like the car; however, after seeing it I think it's growing on me!

It is quite the interesting car. I am not sure if I am sold on it yet. From the technical side of things, this is what you have to do to access the oil filter.(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i288.photobucket.com-12530-1328548892.1.jpg)

This is whats required to access the air filter, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i288.photobucket.com-12530-1328548893.2.jpg)

The lovely Ontario California training center, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i288.photobucket.com-12530-1328548893.3.jpg)

And a small bit from our training manuals(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i288.photobucket.com-12530-1328548894.4.jpg)

Meh, they took a 911 and turned it into a Japanese looking 996 a few years ago, now they took the Jap. 996 and turned it into an Aston Martin wannabe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Unti lthe 911 makes a return I'll stick with the 60's - 90's models (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) You can actually work on those too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Remember when engines were discernible and as good looking as the car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

It's funny you say that Scotty, I have been referring to it as the Aston Martin edition. They now have this fancy tube coming off the intake with a reed in it that goes into the back of the cabin to get some engine noise inside the car. I don't ever recall that being a problem.

I saw it at Rennsport back in October. It's cool, but just... meh.

Funny, I've been thinking for a while now that porsche makes a great looking toyota/911.

For $95-125K I could go shopping and buy a whole bunch of really cool cars.

Beautiful car, but I can't imagine that any of these new cars will be serviceable in the future. All the electronics in new cars will probably become antiquated as quickly as computers do. Can anyone get a 486 computer serviced these days.

Seems to me that Porsche is making some extremely sophisticated cars for their clientele, and don't have the same philosophy that they did in the old days.

I'll stick with air cooled, thank you!

As a fan of older generation 911's, I like the styling of new Boxster better than the new 911 after seing it recently at the Detroit auto show

My dad used to buy "Doctor" cars. Jags, Mercedes, Vettes, ect. He leased them for 3 years and couldn't care less what the issues would be 25 years from then. I imagine many of the people who purchase today's Porsche's and similar cars, think the same way.

Now he drives an old ford explorer so he doesn't cry when someone door dings him at home depot.

I actually like the look of the car. However, it is a shame that when open the rear deck you are met with nothing but a couple of fans.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I really don't have a like or dislike opinion on the new Porsche's, but what I got from these pics is the lack of the younger crowd. Maybe only the older generation can afford them? Boy the service costs must be high if you have to remove that much just for air or oil filter changes.
