Not sure who, how, when or how much....

I think it would be cool. Have we ever looked into doing somthing like this for the club?

I looked into them for the WCC, and depending on what you ordered they could be made reasonably. We would need artwork, and some discernment of expected quality. HTe cheaply made ones are...cheap. Good quality comes at a cost. Google on 'grille badge' and see what comes up.

Grill badges might scratch the paint on the grill. I think it would be better to have a 914Club window sticker.

Stickers are nice. I have 2 different ones and will soon have 2 different club hats. We need to decide on a logo if we're going to have one. A polo shirt with a logo on front ala the WCC shirt or a "T" shirt with a huge logo on the back. 2 cents worth.
Cheers, Elliot

Maybe our logo could read "914World.com - Don't try this with your mother's Boxster"

The badge idea is GREAT!!

The mounting hardware could include a rubber washer to allow the badge to stand off the grill and fasten from the underside with lock nuts to save the paint for those who care. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Who wants a badge? I know I do.

Stickers are juvenile and tacky*. We need grill badges. They lend an air of sophistication. We should also get crested blazers and captains hats. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Just kidding - I think a nice grill badge would be cool. Scratch the engine grill? Um... whatever.

*No offense intended to those who've worked on stickers for the club. Any efforts to promote the club are great.

the grill badges you get from your region or national pca should have a rubber grommet. If not, you can get a whole slew of them for 1.99 at Lowe's/Home Despot.

I think that a cool thing would be a CNC machined aluminum badge that is then annodized, then remove the anodizing from the engraved logo and voila! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Some people like to mount them off the rear bumper or on a special badge license plate frame that accomodate two badges. One on each side. 914 and PCA?

Hey! I'll even put one on the side of my toilet tank! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif)

I would take one or two. If I remember correctly Barber Dave had one (and only one) made for his last meet in 2003.

More like home made wine and cheeze in a can... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I could make them out of soap......just think, 3 or 4 washes and everyone would need a new one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Actually I have a guy that could make them...(out of metal) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Magic... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Each one of the WCC soaps I did took a sacrifice of one chicken part from the great KFC. (the kid didn't want to eat chicken for months afterwards) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

While your checking on "badges" for the birds to look at on your grill, see if they can make for the 914 those mud flaps with the guy shooting guns. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

My grill is only 30.5" from the ground. Birds will see it, but so will EVERYONE else (except midgets and Carl in his Elise). I've seen several 914's with PCA badges on the corner of the grill and they looked rice. Nice. I mean they looked nice. (sigh)

Ok, Ok, if tastefully done, they look nice. But I still wouldn't want it scratching my grill - that Kylon Gloss-Black paint is almost $4 a can, man. Plus, most serious 914 tuners remove even the "PORSCHE" letters from their grill to improve cooling air entering surface area. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) My PO did that for me.
