OMG! I sure hope that we are not viewing another thread here in the next month that looks like that with my car. My car actually arrives at Scotty's shop in the morning - 5/21/12. Let's not forget that I live pretty close to the Golden Gate Bridge...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)
Take comfort that Scotty is on the job and has your car well in hand. |

For your sake I hope not either! Some rust we knew about going in ( hell hole, fenders, rear trunk, etc.). Other areas were a complete surprise such as the floor pan and firewall. Once the disassembly starts on a car who knows what will be found. |

Scotty, what did you spray inside the left long where the rear heater tube goes thru? Something silver-ish? Looks like it oversprayed on the tire. I hope that comes off easily... tires are almost new. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I really like the look of the new metal. That rust was bad news. With Scotty"s rust finding abilities and repair skills I am confident that I will have one of the most rust free 914's in SC. Seriously.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) I can't wait for the paint. I know it will make the rest of the car look tired. This will lead to new seals, interior, etc$$$$$$ |

Phil,
Talk to Scotty and see if he has an opening this summer. You rent the car trailer and I'll tow your car to Virginia when I pick up mine! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Damn, the car makes Christine look rust free. And here I was going to chop her up. Not so sure now, she will be an easy fix compared to that one.

what was that thing in the sail panel?
That is the piece of foam they put in at the factory to prevent squeaks or some other ridiculous b.s. That is the ONLY why the sail panels rot out Scotty, what did you spray inside the left long where the rear heater tube goes thru? Areas like that ad the spot on the sail panel get wire brusehd, a coat of OSPHO ( which is what you are reffering to ) and then a coat of rustoleum Looks like it oversprayed on the tire. I hope that comes off easily... tires are almost new. No overspray on the tire, that's just dust from grinding out the bondo in the 1/4 panel (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Damn, the car makes Christine look rust free. And here I was going to chop her up. Not so sure now, she will be an easy fix compared to that one. Put down the crack pipe Donald (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |
