I donated to the club, and I would donate here too. I don't need a star by my name. I do find it interesting that this only comes up when there has been a disaster and never when things are going good. Andy does what he does because of the love he has for our cars and for this place. I do think a donation button is great, but no recognition please.

I wouldn't say its necessarily about recognition as it is more of a gesture of support.

As an example, if there was a member with a gold star that I was considering purchasing a part and/or car from, I'd be more trusting of that member as they're obviously involved enough in the site and care enough to contribute to the community. Not to say that you shouldn't trust a non-starred member, or that those that do not have a star don't care about the community or are out to screw someone over.

Its just an idea, lets not get all sensitive and (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif).

We have done this before when new equipment was needed.

Those who donated whatever amount ... were titled as a group "Benefactors" and had a heart in the avatar area.

And it's still a good idea to fund Andy for whatever purpose he wants to use it for.

I said it on NARP and I'll say it here; IN!

The amount of time Andy puts into this joint is beyond belief. Anything I can do would be a pleasure.

Nothing against the NARP guys, but this thread was about donating to Andy. I don't much care if you get a little red star by your name. You aren't donating to join a special club. You are donating because Andy worked his ass off to beat down some little "haxzor" and I think he deserves a Twinky and some new black box with which to beat down more "haxzors". Donate to world all you want, but this one is for Andy.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

BTW, I like the idea of sending a check or MO. That way you have to get off your butts, and mail a check not just hit some little button on a screen and then feel good about yourself. If Andy can bust ass to fix the site, the least you can do is take the time to mail a check.

Ok this is what I can do...Have some one do a cool shirt design (KISS)
one color on a light shirt front or back, And sell them with all the moneys...going to Andy..Because I have no over head....we can do it for almost nothing. and still come out ahead,
every one that sends in a cool donation (above $20) get's a cool shirt.

It would only be the cost of the shirt.....very low.

Not including the ads up top. Which based on my understandings, the ads by the vendors are what funds the site.

Can we please put this myth to the recycle bin once and for all? Please?

Not one cent from the Ads has ever gone to anyone other than charity!

In fact, we never even see the money!

Brett: You are absoultly right. This hole thing is about Andy so lets make sure it goes to Andy. I think it would be really bitchen if we could help out with the Turbos. Maybe fuel and tires for the race car. I don't care if it goes to Fredricks of Hollywood. What ever he wants.
I fowareded Mikes PM to you on NARP.

100% This is an amazing thing going on here. The admins do a great job keeping this going and what Andy does is way above and beyond.

If you can contribute, great. If you can't, no sweat.

I don't care if the money goes to hair dye and a new pair of Doc's.

Or membership in a tanning salon. (face it - the guy lives in California and he's the colour of an onion)

Or if my donation enables me to go in and edit other people's posts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
