Sfrenck and Brenz - Scott & Brian - told me about this 914 for sale. Story goes that the PO was driving, heard a big clunk (suspension console?) and the car was no longer drivable. It's been sitting in a garage for ~10 years awaiting repair/restoration. Seller finally decided he was never going to get around to it and told the local guys. Seller was a very nice guy and still has a 912 to drive. This one is very rusty in all the wrong places so they passed. They told me, I looked at it one night and we made a deal. Delivered today on a flatbed to my house. There was a small stash of extra parts but most of it was trash. I saved the 4 seats that need recovering and a backpad in good shape. The passenger seat in the car looks almost perfect so I'll hold onto it for the one at Scotty B's. BTW, My kids call the flared car at Scotty's - Big Red and the one in my workshop - Little Red. I don't thing I'll name this one because I don't plan on keeping it but my daughter just got home from school and said it's - Ugly Red (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .
Who can guess what made me buy this car? Attached image(s) |
