Sfrenck and Brenz - Scott & Brian - told me about this 914 for sale. Story goes that the PO was driving, heard a big clunk (suspension console?) and the car was no longer drivable. It's been sitting in a garage for ~10 years awaiting repair/restoration. Seller finally decided he was never going to get around to it and told the local guys. Seller was a very nice guy and still has a 912 to drive. This one is very rusty in all the wrong places so they passed. They told me, I looked at it one night and we made a deal. Delivered today on a flatbed to my house. There was a small stash of extra parts but most of it was trash. I saved the 4 seats that need recovering and a backpad in good shape. The passenger seat in the car looks almost perfect so I'll hold onto it for the one at Scotty B's. BTW, My kids call the flared car at Scotty's - Big Red and the one in my workshop - Little Red. I don't thing I'll name this one because I don't plan on keeping it but my daughter just got home from school and said it's - Ugly Red
.
Who can guess what made me buy this car?

Definitely - those things are easily worth 3 or 4 times what the rest of the car is worth! Nice!

I'm told it's a 1.8 but not positive. The rear of the car has a 2.0 emblem. Said to have been rebuilt by a reputable shop shortly before chassis took a dump.
PM me if you want it. Price will be VERY reasonable but delivery won't happen until the next time I'm at Scotty's. Unless your up for a trip to my house?

Mark- If you are not interested in those ugly wheels, just drop them off at Scotty's and he could use them to roll my car around while it is at his shop. My car arrived there this morning so the timing would be right. I might even give you a couple of dollars for them.....or even trade you for the Fuchs on the car now....

I had done a bit of research. It seems like they sell for 2-3K in average condition. I have a 5th wheel but it was damaged when someone forgot to tighten the lug nuts. I got 10.4lbs on my scale.

Not the more common flat nose?

They are actually not that hard to find but like all glass products they differ by manufacturer. I have one but I haven't fitted it yet. I kind of like the stock chrome bumper but wish Mine was nicer.
