I would be interested to hear how fast everybody's 914's are. Please include any information you can about your car. ie. Motor size, tranny, fuel setup, stock, track setup etc.
Pictures are welcome! I would especially love to hear from the admins and all you 914 aficionados. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) |

140 MPH. That was before I put in the taller road gear. I'm too scared to try it again. What gear did you install? ... I could use a higher ratio in 5th (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

105 mph on I-5 in CA in a 1973 914-4 2.0; at which point the windshield trim piece on the right side peeled off & was gone forever What was the acceptable speed limit prior to those laws taking effect? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) 138 mph in my 914-6 on I-5 in Oregon before the speed laws took effect. |

Mine is so unrelentingly fast I had to get the ultimate bumper sticker to go with it, "I may not be fast but I am infront of you, until you get out your walther ppk and waste my worthless ass." Top speed run in the fast lane, 51 MPH (since I was sparing the rev limiter, but since I really don't have one - I just go straight on to implosion at 53 MPH). Are those 916 bumpers, Rick? |

Nope they are standard 71 914 chomeys. I just took the pic from a 916 point of view. |

Just guessing here, and don't want to offend, but I think you're a reasonable guy and pretty sane in spite of evidence to the contrary, so I'd say you probably got prudent and backed off around 120mph. |
