Booked my room will arrive on Thursday. The Lady I talked to didn't know anything about our event and said that the contact has not been confirm, and will give us the group rate when the contact gets confirmed. John

I was told by the person at the desk that there was not a group rate at this time.
They gave us a discounted rate so asking for the group rate caused confusion with the woman I spoke with. After giving them the dates she saw the discounted price and then took my reservation.

eric, a 300 mile shake down run prob isn't such a good idea. 300 or less before you set out to work out any bugs might save you major hassles. by the time you get home it'll be over 1000. seen it a few times...radiator failure on a v-8 conv, shift bushing go kaput, wheel bearing adj, cables...

Yea I've thought about that. We'll see how soon I get it put back together, and if I get to drive it much before hand.

If I don't get much time to ensure it is reliable, I may trailer to the event. But only if you guys promise not to call my baby "Trailer Queen". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)

I'm most likely moving to Eugene, OR at the end of March...so I might be making the drive a little bit further North, for one day at least!

I've got to make one of these get togethers!

Linda & I will likely be there and make it part of a vacation. We love the area and we had such a great time at Medford that it will be great to go back to Oregon. Unfortunately, I'll be sans-914. The 2 trips we've made with the Eurovan Camper towing the 914 have resulted in radiator fan failures while crossing Nevada. We're just not going to take the chance anymore on towing.

Well Mr. C,
I'm guessing you probably would get the best of baby and me at AX...Since she is bone stock. I've thought about doing some serious AX, but just can't see tearing up a good original 73' 2.0 survivor. I think her destiny is to take some fun runs in the Washington, Idaho, and Montana mountains. We have some incredible scenic switchbacks in this area that are just CRYING out for 914s to give them a try.

I wouldn't mind putting putting in a few laps at the track though...just to have a legal place to get her up to 100 MPH, and then throw her into some turns. That would be some serious fun. I see your a PNW guy, so maybe I'll get to meet you at the WCR if my refurbish goes as planned.

Looks like I'm out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

My nephew is in a program for at risk youth sponsored by the California National Guard. I (ex-Marine) am his mentor. He graduates on June 14 @10am in San Luis Obispo. Smack dab in the middle of WCR. As much as I want to be there, family comes first.

I have considered all options but it doesn't make sense to race on Friday afternoon to Oregon just to make the end of WCR. There are no airports (with a flight) within 1.5 hours of each location. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif)

I am cancelling my reservation in OR and booking one in SLO. My new goal is to have the car running for a trip to SLO. Then a nice ride up the coast with my wife.

See you guys next year! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
