Shimming the trailing arms to correct sagging in the rear of the car, but good shocks and springs typically correct it. Economy in a shim till one can change out about $300 in parts needed.
Sometimes even with shocks and springs, there is a bit of shim needed. Anyone want to add better comments? John |

Shimming trailing arm. Oh that what I thought you meant to say. I was inquiring of the packet of copper rings. What are those used for? Oh I think it's an o-ring in that plastic bag.
I could use new case bolts and the studs that hold the P/C s. Are those new and if so, how much? Thanks |

Hey 0396,
Those copper rings are for a 2 liter exhaust manifold. Not a 1.7 or 1.8. You need 2 more to do all 4 pipes. The case bolts are already sunk into the motor halves. I can't remove them. I am not sure who makes them, as they were already in the short block when I bought it. Maybe Jonathan at GPR knows? Thanks, John Shimming trailing arm. Oh that what I thought you meant to say. Hello Teeners,
If it doesn't ship by Monday, really latest Tuesday, as my dad Robert A Lewis, Sr said over Hiroshima, "There will be a pause while we bomb our target." My Mom, his widow, had a stroke and I will be out of town until 12/2. Thanks to all, and you have 3 days to pick and pay. I send the last box out Tuesday after my freaking root canal. Thanks! John |
