Looks like you are doing a really thorough job. Really well done! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

It's been quite awhile, but the body is getting closer to paint. A few months back while stripping the rear trunk lid, it was determined that the car had been repainted SEVEN times! As of yesterday the car has it's first coat of primer, and should be in paint in a couple weeks.

Just a few more pictures of metal work.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) It's not often that someone who is new to the board does everything so meticulously and correctly! This is really good stuff, and likely on the way to becoming a "Classic" thread. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) This is the kind of quality work that I aspire to be able to do someday.

Bravo sir! Takes a lot of patience (that I don't have) to do something like that. I can't wait to see what you end up with!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. Yes, boxsterfan, the insides have been treated. This project has been an adventure. I almost thought I had lost EVERY piece of hardware off the car. I gave them to a guy to be zinc plated. He ended up losing his job and I lost contact with him for several months. We were able to reconnect and I'm hoping to get everything back this Wednesday.

Well I did get the hardware back, but it was never plated. Anyone have a good source for yellow zinc plating in Northern Colorado? (Fort Collins area)

Not much update on the body. It is in primer though, and the driver's door is getting re-skinned.

While waiting I've been working on my other project.

It's been over a year and a half and the body is not yet in paint! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) However, it is finally in the booth! I hope to see it in Gold soon.

Cool, you are in Loveland. I've visited a microbrewery there. Big Beaver Brewing.

Anyone have a picture of how the passenger seat bracket on the floor is supposed to look like. The PO had later seats in it and drilled three holes all the way through the floor. I'm not sure how it should be, or how the seat actually mounts.

Can't believe I'm just finding this thread! Great job!

Quite a few of us in Northern CO, I'm in Erie.

Metallic gold is such a great color.

Can't wait to see this car when it's done!

Keep up the great work.

Well after close to two years at the body shop, the car is back in the garage. However, it is still not Gold! I decided to get it back and take it to another shop to finish it. I just could'nt wait any longer. It is now scheduled for the guys at Custom Auto here in Loveland to take over the painting task in September.

Real close. The body just needs wet sanding, and a few tweaks here and there. The Hoods and Drivers' door still need some metal work.

Sent it off to the new shop last week. The guys got right on it, and progress is moving along.

I may be calling on some of you Colorado guys for help figuring out how to put it back together. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's GOLD!

At least the inside and underside are. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Should be fully painted by the end of next week.
