I know it’s sacrilegious to speak ill of Bertone in many circles, but it looks too much like a large Fiat 850 Spyder.

The front end and windshield reminds me of the Ferrari Daytona Spyder. Nice looking car, not very Porschey.

ISO GRIFO had a prototype spyder that never made it to production in 1964. Very similar. |

I've worked on that car! The comments on the site are incomplete, as it once belonged to a guy named Jeff Cannon who lived in the South Bay area of LA County, IIRC. It was still the original color as late as 1975 or 1976.

Way too much front and rear overhang (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) I disagree somewhat. Keep the front as is and less on the rear, lower it, and your damn close to a Daytona Spyder. One of my favorite F cars (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) |

"The end result seemed something absolutely spectacular, with the new body looking much more fetching than anything that had come out of Porsche" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) opionions and assholes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) "Against competition from Jaguar and the spectacular Lamborghini Miura, the Bertone special was seen as the most compelling." And this sentence tells me that Bertone had someone drop by and give the writer a hummer for writing this love letter of an article. |

Yeah it's a beauty.
1966. No doubt the time devoted to the Porsche prototype was somewhat less than the 850 Spider. They were cute then and remain so.Tiny fuel efficient almost microcar dimensions. The concept has been emulated since that time. Designers Dreams made real. I don't suppose there is a "School of Automotive Design" grad here on this site. I am aware that there are some talented workers, that have applied their skills and demonstrated great perseverance. |
