Not exactly time to Kick the tires & light the fires' but some cool swag* on the 8gtt key chain.
Car is push-button start, but the original 1974 keys are still operational on the door handles (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

So the plan for the Poly-carb window support/ strengthening bar >> at sill line of door will be secured to the interior of the door. I've elected not to drill the exterior tops of the doors for this part of the build; for a much cleaner look.
Located 3) 6x1.00 mm flange nuts and secured into the 3) OE top upholstery door panel holes.

This is how it looks (end needs trim cut) and when the poly-carb window is final-fit and aligned with the weather stripping in place, there will be 4) small bolts & nylock nuts put in place on to this 1" x ⅛ aluminum bar.

One more view, note the long 6mm allen bolts are just for set-up, not for the finished product !

QUOTE(tygaboy @ Apr 13 2026, 04:09 PM) *

Thx Chris ¡
In my young Marty days like 8 to 14 years old, I was a model kit hobbyist: AMT, Monogram, Revell, and an obscure brand Hawk* made caricature models.
*These were known as "Weird Ohs" heavily influenced by Ed big daddy Roth. His Rat Fink (RF) creature usually had a claw protruding out of a window, door or out of the roof on the crazy Tall shifter.

So I dig the 955 engine with the huge Wilson plenum protruding skywards>> a little throwback to the Ed Roth style. Ed signed my "Beatnik Bandit" AMT model using his pinstripe brush with 1shot in 1999, at the Mooneyes Show. I met up with him as well at a couple SEMA shows just before he passed on

Getting on with setting up the floorboard for the Tilton stuff.
The small piece of shaped ¾" pine is for filling in the irregular contours in the floor (no black tar there), and the new 'Base is .250" aluminum plate >>covers the spacer.
Spacer is upside down in pic to show the cutting, and it locates snug on to the 2) remaining 8mm studs. Attached Image
