9 feet, roughly the distance between my childhood room and my own room. I'm not old enough for college yet. But when I do, I'm escaping to Rochester and never coming back to NJ.

Raised in Moose Jaw, moved to Toronto -- approx 1800 miles from home -- did the "north shore of superior" drive in a 68 beetle -- wowzers... lots of really big trucks -- Lived in TO for 15 years. Awesome city to live in. Would happily go back except for "winter"...
Moved to San Jose for work -- computer geek -- now only 1500 miles from Home) -- it's warmer here and awesome in different ways -- much more p-car friendly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (drove a p-car to work today -- it's actually perfect here in the fall -- sunny and not hot -- the weather here is actually like the praries where I grew up -- just stretch out summer until the winter part is gone). (oh, our desert plants have started their blooming cycle -- beauty is unfolding in the front yard!) Each place we've lived, we've learned a lot -- tourism can't get some of the interesting info into your brain -- and met really great people -- the 914 gang and tech crowd down here are really cool. We try to make life an adventure. So far, it's been a wild ride, but a good one. kim. |

It depends on what you mean by grew up.
I'm about 5 miles from where I lived from age 4-8. 1786.59 miles from where I lived most of my parental controled years. 1101.31 from where I was born in Chicago Take your pick... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) |

Our house is 4 blocks away from my parents house where I grew up. They have been there over 30 years.
let me tell you, its great for baby sitting services. also, my dad lets me keep my trailer there and he has every tool known to man. The tools are slowly accumulating in my garage now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) |

About 1200 miles from St.Paul MN to Yorktown VA.
Ended up here when I left the AF. Always thought I'd end up back there with the rest of the family, but not sure I could take the winters anymore (doctor said I have to cut down on salt--am applying the same rule to the 914). Besides, my old man used to say "never move anywhere colder than where you are . . . ." Happy Thanksgiving Steve A- |

I live about 13 miles from where I grew up. I work abour 8 blocks away however. If you grow up in Washington people laugh at you when they see the webbing between your toes so, it's just easier to stay here cause around here you don't need to explain.

I am actually 12 miles from my birthplace. But I spent from age 2 to age 16 in Austintown Ohio. 1240.01 miles from where I live now. We moved back here in 1979, 2 weeks before my 16th birthday. With the exception of my time in the Army, I have lived here ever since.
Living in Ohio taught me one thing.... Snow sucks. |

Probably less than 30 miles from were I was born/grew up. Both my family and my wifes family reside all within 10-20 minute drives. Both of us have always lived in WA and pan to keep it that way.
BTW - If you have moved to WA from another state or are planning to move here, it rains a lot here. So I wouldn't move here. If you moved here, I would move away from here, because it rains a lot here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
