Yep, the "Pinneaple Express" has come threw and warmed everything up almost 20 degrees. It should pass in another few days and when it does, I am betting we will get a cold snap. Back into the mid 30's.

Doesn't snow much around here anymore. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Stupid "pineapple express" haunts me wherever I live. I was horrible at Mt. Alyeska Alaska, turned beautiful snow into mashed potatos in an instant.

3 days ago it snowed 18 inches, yesterday it rained 2' inches, today it is almost 60 deg. My driveway is a freakin mess.

If my engine was in the car I could drive it the roads are dry, but I wouldn't be able to get it out of the garage, through the driveway.

I am ready to put shorts on here in Santa Cruz. Clear blue sky. Temp says 67 but it feels a lot warmer than that. Weekend forecast is for the same. Is the Pineapple Express a West Coast thing or only Nrothwest?

The Pineapple express is when moist warm air is drawn up from the pacific around the Hawiian islands. Mostly occuring in the winter months. Yes I imagine that it could effect cali. In the picture you can see that the storm system moving on shore in Washington starts way down south of Hawaii. Sometimes you can see a straight line of clouds/moisture directly from Hawaii to Alaska. Prolly more info than you needed but you asked. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks for the explanation. Not too much information. The map tells it all. I know that the normal weather pattern for the west coast comes alot more from the North. So are you guys seeing any coconut tress sprouting? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
