What a cool motor! I'm looking forward to tearing mine down. Not going to happen before the WCC 05 though.

While you are in there (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif) You can portmatch the intake and exhaust ports. Get a few thousands milled off the head to bump some compression. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Just got back into town from a 3 hr white knuckle ride up I35. Here's the photo of the head rest. I moved the transaxle back 1.5" I don't know how much more you can move it before the axles are compermised. I removed everything off the front of the motor I could. I have one pulley on the balancer. You can't remove the cam gears. They are the furthest point forward.

ok, so where is the dumb end of the tape???

Glass or metal?
Or upolstery?

thank you, i will go measure now...

I cant believe you lost all those pics on your pc, bummer...i bet there where some great ones of the kids.

I rebuilt a beetle with/for my son...a 72 super, pan off, the whole deal..lots of welding blah blah blah..

He was almost a total PITA when we did it, but afterwards he wrote a paper about it for school that
I found and he said some really nice things and he will always remember it....plus I was able to teach him how to fix his own car in the process...

I have two more boys, next one has his learners permit, so he wants the 67 122s in the back...that will start as soon as i can touch the motor without freezing to it.

Third one really wants muscle....early 60's

It can be so much fun sharing this hobby with kids.
I strongly agree with the theraputic quality of fixing cars.

Stopped at the machine shop. Still not done. I informed the owner I still need to have the unit balanced before next weekend. He said they would come through. We'll see... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif)

I ground all the bolts to length and checked them for proper depth. The machine shop didn't bother to check to see if the bolts actually went in without bottoming out. (ya right) I ran out of lock tite. I need to lock tite the bolts and run it over to the balancer dude tomorrow. He promised Me he would finish before I head to
Des Moine for our meeting and the alien autopsy. (cool) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/assimilate.gif)
