Sorry Ben,,,,That SIX deserves an OEM tank..I have several..

I purchased one off ebay a few years ago. I never looked at. Just left it in the box. Turned out to have a giant mouse nest inside and the top was rusted out. I just made a deal on a factory tank yesterday. so the 6 is getting the tank I wanted it to have.

But Ben's tanks are a great option and we are lucky he invests the time to do this.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Me and Clay made a swap deal. I wanted a factory tank and he has been wanting a Ben tank for his red car. Worked slick.

I was running the factory tank with the 4.0, and I had to run an adapter to hook up the return line to the tank. With Ben's tank, I can run the correct sized fitting so no adapter. And the six that Rick is restoring really needs a factory tank and accessories. So the trade was a no-brainer.

@ClayPerrine if you need anything else let me know I owe you

I haven't posted about this car for awhile. I have been working on the Alien. But the work goes on. I have been working to Un-pull the quarters. Lots of time shrinking the panel and reforming the lip.

Not sure if you can see the difference from one side to the other.

You can see the difference in fenders for sure. That must be an exercise in repetitive patience!

I received my re-chromed bumpers from Bruce Stone. Oscar volunteered to bring them to a local chrome shop but was overwhelmed with life. I do appreciate the effort and I am glad Bruce was able to help. So I am one step closer to getting the 6 back on the road.

Attached Image

Bruce said the cost at this shop will be minimum $850 for front and $750 rear.
Dent and welding may add to the price. The turn around has been two weeks or less. He said he is not looking to be the new bumper king but will help if it does not take too much time and effort on my part.
Cost if he assists will require 50% down and 50% due at completion.

The company is Ultimate Quality Bumper and chrome. They can be found on Facebook, instagram. The website is scarce.

Just a comment, I used Ultimate Quality Bumper and Chrome for my front bumper after the GT modification. The chrome is OK and the bumper looks OK. The first comment I got at a car show was the chrome has a "bluish tinge" to it. In looking at it in the sunlight, I had to agree. Not sure why it turned out like that. I may have it re-chromed at some point.

Juan was easy to deal with and I had no issues with them as far as receiving and returning the bumper. It returned packaged like it could go around the world and have no damage at all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I have the 6 off the Celette and the rear suspension cleaned up ready to install. I have the axles and CV's ready to reassemble. I need to replace the front Arm Bushings yet. They were damaged in the accident.

Rick, what kind of bushings are in the rear trailing arms?
Look like urethane. Is that what was on the car when you got it?

So did they correct the problem? I have heard that will happen if they don't add copper plating under the chrome. I have seen 4 bumpers they have done and not seen any blue hue.

I did not. I have been swamped for about 3 years on something and figured that was the way they did chrome. I am almost at the end of that long project, so maybe I will reach out to Juan and see what he can do. Thanks for the suggestion Bruce. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Rick,
Do you get nervous moving the car on jackstands on the rolling furniture dollies?

Yes! It was vey Scary! The stands are bolted to the bases. I ended up clamping braces to the jack stands to keep them from twisting. I only moved the car against the wall. Once the suspension is on the car can hit the floor.

I don't have the height or the space in my shop for a lift. I made this from a 2500lb air jack. It worked to get Jueren's car up on the Celette. It was a bare shell. When I did my 6 it barely lifted it and I was afraid it would topple over. When I took it off the Celette I pulled the doors & lids. I should have used a 4500lb jack.

They make a side lift like this but I don't have the space to store it. This one works but I have a redesign in mind to make it safer.
