A true tragedy as it was street racing that made him famous. From the look of the wrecked car, they must have really been running quickly for a built up area.

A good reminder to keep it on the track with proper safety equipment, not on the public streets.

RIP

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Paul Walker was a good guy, and always had a good attitude, even though all people ever knew him for was Fast and Furious.

As George said, the lesson to be learned here is no matter how experienced you think you are, racing should be left for the track, no excuses. I do remember Rodas from the PWC as well, and he should have known better. Very sad.

RIP for Paul and Rodas. As some one posted, racing is better and most times safer - on the track.
I have an Porsche Master Tech as a buddy and when it comes to the CGT. Many times after a service during a test drive, the CGT ' will' exhibit some tail wagging....this is with traction control. One of his other comments was- I hope no one turns off traction control as if 'will' be a handful.

I am certified on the GT and it was ingrained during training to never even touch the traction control button. The car also is very rear weight biased. A lot more than you would think for a mid engine.

So many Carrera GTs have ended in a bad way. This car must be a hand full to drive at the limit.

Unfortunately some end tragically.

It would appear to be another case of "too much car, not enough driver", added to the ever popular "inappropriate venue". Sad, but it happens every day, and people with truly fast cars seem to do it more often than those of us with more affordable rides. These two guys were within a couple hours' drive of multiple racing facilities, and had the money to avail themselves of the opportunity to do their thing there. At least they didn't take out any non-participants in their folly. Well, except for the trees.

It appears CF doesn't offer much crash protection?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) the tree won.

It's so easy to go fast in these cars that when they let go, well...

I remember meeting Pelle Lindbergh and drooling over his red 930 a week before he drove it into a stone wall.

Trying to find the picture with a different angle.

Attached Image
You can see the 'Yaw Marks' left by the car (under front license of black Tahoe and right front tire). The two separate tire marks indicates the car was broadsliding. Obvious is the car hit the tree and bent in half. The left front tire you can see the dent in the rim too, would be caused by more than likely the curb. The left rear rim is unmarked. The dynamics of this crash obviously had some high speed and rotational principles.

Read somewhere it was behind a building and they were doing donuts, so might be the 'traction control' turned off issue.

Proper place/proper time. Cars kill more people than guns...here's another preventable death(s).

WARNING: If your web searching photos and have the filters OFF. There's apparently there's gay porn actor named 'Paul Walker'. MY EYES (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) you can't un-see some thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

I've always like Paul Walker. He never flaunted his fame and seemed humble about it.

As far as if anyone cared, yes many did, especially his friends and family.

I had no idea who the guy was, had to look him up.

I don't do "fan". They're actors. They pretend to be someone else for a living.
IMHO, anyone who puts them on some sort of pedestal has serious self esteem issues.

Now on to the real question, did anyone get a hose?
