Yeah we totally are turning the horse into hamburger meat at this point.

But yet again, those of you who are more "experienced" in this world than I am, like Rick and Eric, make good points. I have no interest in arguing, just discussing one's opinion, which is what we're doing and why this place is so aweome. 'MURICA (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif)

I apologize about my comment about PCA endorsing speeding. Of course I haven't been a member as long as most of you, so I should have more evidence before stating such a claim. I think it was one issue of Pano (Issue 680, November 2013) a few months ago that had an article about a guys blue 993 that caught my attention. Basically they spent a page on "how not to get caught speeding". I didn't see the need for that in the article, I guess.

Just hope everyone stays safe on the roadway. As my boss always says, "Do what your career can handle." Everyone speeds, but like Rick said, keep in mind that there are always the freak things that can happen that you don't expect. You may die going 5 under, but I like to give myself a little better chance at avoiding the unpredictable, so I do fastest driving at the track. YMMV (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Funny how you contribute to a thread, you're on topic, and regardless of the sensitive nature of the topic, someone has to crap all over that. Or wait, it's not funny, it's sad. I will reconsider next time I am compelled to share, however appropriate it seems.

I am really sorry if this offended you, sad that i opened my mouth.

No Worries. I'm not offended and you're probably not sad that you opened your mouth (if you are, you shouldn't be). It's a free country and you're entitled to express your opinion. On an open forum as such, I'm entitled to express mine. Just pretend we're having a beer across the table at the "Ale Asylum". No harm no foul. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) My PCA promotes a minimum of 2 track days per year at MMSP, multiple autocrosses on safe closed courses and very safe tours and rally's on public roads.

Mike Valentine is allowed to advertise his products because of the same 1st amendment right you have to express your opinions in this open forum. Some countries shut down Internet access to their citizens... and control the media. If "we the people" or PCA for that matter, shouldn't allow him his rights; who should allow us ours? Let common sense be your guide. Exotic car owners tend to like the aspect of speed. Hence the 3.2 going in your 914. A good marketing manager at any corporation knows this and targets that audience. It sounds like you're a little off target but hey, they gave it a valiant(ine) effort. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I'm with Rick (and Jake... and Forrest Gump's Momma). Let's bring it in. None of us get off this ride alive. Be good to one another. Stupid is as Stupid does. Somebody did something stupid, be it in a Yugo or a Carrera GT, and there's a couple of charred bodies because of it.

Well said Eric.

And the thing that none of us still understand is why did 2 guys who are well versed in performance cars ( and the handling aspects thereof) make the poor decision to put the pedal down in that part of the street. They weren't stupid, they (or he) just made a stupid choice. Let's all be a little smarter out there...
