Measurements are a little, depending, 20 inch.
The CV joint thing is like 4 1/8 inch. And the axle itself is like 1 1/8th inch. |

From the pic of the cv, it looks more like 4.25 which makes it a 108 mm. Bigger than a 914 cv.

Yeah, these are "big ones". Not sure what that means...
Early like 69-71 911? |

Look like bus axles to me. Could be 911 but I would guess they are bus axles, How many bolts in the CV?

I just looked at the early axle that I have and saw that they are shorter than my 914 axles. So that axle you have could very well be bus axles.

I have an early 911 CV right here in my hand:
OD is 4.25" and it is 1.58" thick (no metal shield like in your picture, bare housing) this one here has 4 thru holes for bolts and 2 thru holes for pins the 911 assembly should be about an 1" shorter than a 914 assembly |

That's the shop that built the car for the guy I bought it from that did that.
I found a lot of other hokey pokey stuff, like a nut with about 2 inches of washers on it holding my transmission in, wheel spacers which were just a single washer on each lug, not even close to the right size thread... You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself about! |
