Hey folks.....Been poking around my 914 and will be replacing various parts over the weeks here.

For the distributor, which on mine is an old, pointless Allison model, I wanted to replace it with a Bosch and put in pertronics...then I found this "SVDA" thing on ebay...just wondering if its a good value, as it seems to be a brand new bosch, with the pertronics already installed. Good?

Bosch 050 is very good with or without Pertronics I don't think that a 009 has enough advance for the Porsche version of the type4. There are probably some other newer ones that are made with more advance than the 009 but I don't know which ones are best.

Try CB performance black box:
http://www.cbperformance.com/ProductDetail...roductCode=2013

You may use any dizzy but it'll give you the qualities of a mechanical advance at the top end and svga advance at the low end. . .

So at idle, you can set your timing to 0 deg. Cooler engine in traffic.
