Called to get pricing and to see if they had a new windshield frame seal in stock.... got Frank (?) on the phone..turns out he is a 914 owner as well.....smooth transaction.....web site still needs some work..or it could be my browser (Opera) .......oh yea, they list my front bearings with a weight of 10lbs which is too much and can be misleading to those shopping (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

There is a bunch of great people that work at GPR. They really stand behind what they sell as well. I like that. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rocking nana.gif)

Its the browser (I use opera as well). I loaded mozilla firefox for the few sites that dont work on opera.

I actually ordered from GPR this morning too after getting bogus information from another parts vendor in so cal. GPR was awesome. Their site was lacking a few things, but I called and it was taken care of.

Frank the new guy....He's pretty cool to talk with. Dave had some problems and had to reaarange things. But like always GPR has got to be top notch for parts.

I also like dealing with GPR/Dave,
just ordered my Bilstein/H&R Cup Kit for my Jetta a couple of weeks ago.

But,
I wonder IF Dave/GPR has heard ALL the stories about AA, who they just MERGED with. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif)

Maybe the aa folks will learn how to provide good Customer Service & how to Ship properly from GPR! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

from what I understand, it's not really a "merge", just more of an alliance for getting more products and sources.....

Me and Dave had a nice talk about that. He saw what they were saying over on the bird board but he doesnt read this site.
His customer service will remain the same. Which is excellent. It was to help AA more then it was for GPR.

GPR has always been one of the Good Guys. I bought from them before I started with Pelican (heck, before there even was a Pelican!) and was always pleased with the service and the prices. It is well worth supporting a business like that.

Jason at Paragon is another one of the White Hats.

Hopefully Pelican is as well, but I'm not in the best position to judge that....

Never had a problem with The Bird or GPR. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) Greg at GPR helped me a lot last year. Last week I just had a run-in with AA where they shipped my part to another guy in Kirkland, WA. The guy was nice enough to email me and send the part to me. Went to AA to tell them of their F-up and they pretty much blew me off. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

Never, never, never will I ever go to AA again (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flipa.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bootyshake.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ar15.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pissoff.gif)

There, now I feel better.

that's most people's experience here. sure hope that the AA guy on the board can see this and take it constructively. it might be nice to have another reliable source for parts.

I had a little problem with pelican a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a brake rotor and shift bushing kit on sunday. I get confirmation on monday. On tuesday they tell me its delayed because they dont have a bushing so I should get it next week (christmas is saturday). I call them on wednesday telling them i want to willcall my rotor so i can get my car running. I drive down wednesday (which took 3 hours because of LA traffic), get my parts. It turns out they had the shift bushing the whole time (what was delaying the order). I get my parts, take off, get home, and realize I got the wrong rotor. Correct packaging, wrong part. Its kinda my fault because I should have checked, but frusturating nonetheless. Ah well, my car is still on jack stands (siezed caliper) so it wouldnt have mattered.

Sorry about that - I hope Travis helped you out with the return.

There's not much we can do about that - we get the parts (rotors) in the packaging from our supplier. If for some reason the manufacturer mis-marked the parts, or some switcheroo happened, I can't really think of a good way to catch that. My warehouse people know parts, but they wouldn't know the difference between early and late 914 brake rotors...

I've got 98% of my new parts from PP, always the correct part, always shipped quickly. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

Got my "first" set of caliper rebuild kits from GPR, same experience. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

I have known Dave at GPR for about 14 years now. Everyone there has always treated me great.

I have a project for which I will be ordering parts from GPR again soon. Watch the threads to see what I am up to now. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/happy11.gif)

If I can't get it from my local wholesaler, then I call GPR, always. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
